European Policies
The activity of the A Aixola Training Centre is directly inscribed in and contributes to the objectives and priorities of the European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund (EMFAF) 2021-2027.
Specifically, the training and professional qualification actions carried out at the centre are aligned with two of the four EMFAF priorities:
-
Priority 1: Fostering a sustainable fisheries sector and the recovery and conservation of aquatic biological resources.
-
Through training, the centre contributes to improving the competitiveness and viability of businesses in the fisheries sector, facilitating the sector’s adaptation to changes and strengthening the skills of workers.
-
-
Priority 2: Fostering sustainable aquaculture activities, as well as the sustainable processing and marketing of fishery and aquaculture products, thereby contributing to food security in the Union.
-
Specialised training in aquaculture enables the development of new professional skills, promoting competitiveness and innovation in the sector and the creation of qualified jobs.
-
Furthermore, the training activities at A Aixola are also part of Priority 3: Enabling a sustainable blue economy in coastal, island and inland areas, and fostering the development of fishing and aquaculture communities, by contributing to job creation and social inclusion, and by supporting employability and labour mobility in these communities.
In line with the objectives of the European Union, the A Aixola training centre contributes to:
-
Improving the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises in the fisheries and aquaculture sectors.
-
Promoting employment and fostering labour mobility.
-
Investing in education, skills and lifelong learning to ensure smart, sustainable and inclusive growth.
