TRAINING OF TRAINERS IN THE MANUFACTURE AND MAINTENANCE OF GEAR AND EQUIPMENT

The courses in the field of the redoubt seek to ensure generational replacement in the fishing sector and especially in the performance of certain activities which are left without staff to carry them out. At the same time, they also seek new professional opportunities for the sector workers and their honour where the active population is very old.

The development of the netmaking profession requires a great mastery and practice which is achieved with time and dedication. For that reason, the current rush of work does not allow companies to stop training new netmakers.

On the other hand, it is becoming increasingly common for shipowners to value, when they have to hire, nets knowledge and riggings. Sometimes, it can happen that only a condition was achieved (as says those who sign up for the course)

Since 2015 the Centre has been approved by the Consellería de Economía, Emprego e Industria (Regional Ministry of Economy, Employment and Industry) to give the conducive training to the Certificate of Professionalism in Manufacturing and Maintenance of Skills and Rigging.

The course meets all the requirements of the Professionalism Certificate: the teacher’s profile, installations and training material and content. With this document, you can apply for the Professionalism Certificate, an essential requirement to be registered in this activity in the social security system.

To access to these courses, applicants must meet some of the required requirements for conducive training to Professionalism Certificates of level 2 and to make an enrolment through the Employment Offices of Galicia.
