Justification of the training section

Nautical tourism has experienced a substantial progress in recent years, both in terms of facilities as well as in the number of followers. In Galicia, any part of its 1,900 km of coastline is a suitable place for the practice of water sports at any time of the year because of its mild weather conditions and the estuaries peace.

Analysing the sector reality, we observe that in yacht clubs and marinas there are an important work volume for the sailing world and the repair of inflatable vessels.

Inflatable vessels, either semi-rigid or foldable, need a constant maintenance and repairs which requires a minimum of infrastructure and machinery. This situation benefits entrepreneurial actions for the creation of small companies oriented to the repair of their components.

Once again, in this field, the Aixola training centre is the only regional and national model in the specialities training as specific as sailing and rigging and the maintenance and repair of inflatable vessels.
